Bulk update

Enhancing user efficiency is at the core of our focus. With our robust tree filtering system and the ability to easily select multiple items in a tree, we have taken the next step to empower users with the ability to update properties of multiple selected items simultaneously in one simple action.

Introducing version 11, this becomes a reality.

As you may already know, when you right-click on an item in the tree, a contextual menu appears, offering various useful options.

When you select multiple items (using the Ctrl or Shift keys), the right-click menu will display only options that are compatible with multi-selection.

Example use case

Imagine you want to update the status of several bugs based on a combination of specific criteria. In such a scenario, you can leverage the array of tools provided by XStudio.

1 - Start by utilizing our powerful tree filter to search for bugs based on their status, severity, priority, contributors, assignees, custom fields or even plain text search. This can also apply to bugs fetched from third-party systems like JIRA, GitLab, Redmine etc.

2 - Now that the tree is filtered, select a range of bugs (using the Shift key) and refine your selection by adding or removing specific bugs (using the Ctrl key if needed) from the remaining items.

3 - Finally, perform a bulk update on the selected bugs by clicking on the Bulk update option.

The available options will vary depending on the target items. For instance, when dealing with bugs, you can
- update the status, severity, or priority of all the selected bugs,
- you can also add or remove yourself as a follower,
- self assign to all these bugs, and even send them a message/notification.

Single Sign-On (SSO) framework

The trend of companies relying on centralized/externalized authentication systems is growing rapidly. To cater to this demand, we have implemented a robust Single Sign-On (SSO) framework based on Pac4j, ensuring support for any SSO protocol in the future.

Currently, we have included CAS, but please note that we can easily implement other protocols upon request. Our framework can support a wide range of SSO protocols, including:

OAuth
SAML
CAS
OpenID
OpenID Connect
Google App Engine
Kerberos (SPNEGO Negotiate)
JWT
And many more.

This means you can seamlessly authenticate using your enterprise SSO solution but also on third-party providers such as Google, Apple, Microsoft Azure, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, GitHub, and more.

Of course, you will need to first register your user's third-party Identifier in XStudio. All the rights management is handled within XStudio. Only the authentication occurs on the third-party system, using either the user's name or email address.

Also, with XStudio, you have the flexibility to configure as many SSO connectors as you need. This can be easily done from the XStudio Server Settings page.

All configured connectors will be prominently displayed on the login page as buttons/logos, which will seamlessly redirect you to the respective third-party login pages.
